BAY-NANO Institute for Nanotechnology

The BAY-NANO Research Institute for Nanotechnolgy was established in July, 2006 as a green-field project in the city of Miskolc. The University of Miskolc is the major academic partner of BAY-NANO, although we work together also with other universities, such as the Budapest Technical University, the University of Szeged and the Semmelweis University. Our main partners within the Bay-institutions are BAY-ATI and BAY-BIO.

The main goal of BAY-NANO is to create new knowledge, know how and intellectual property in the field of nanoscience and nanotechnology. This is done with the purpose to produce additional value in companies producing materials (including medicines) of the Miskolc region, and also at the national and international levels. Due to its unique analytical equipments, BAY-NANO also serves as a laboratory to meet nano-metrological needs of small and medium enterprises of the North-Eastern region of Hungary. BAY-NANO is at the same time the background research institution of Deprtment of Nanotechnology of the University of Miskolc.
